Hi! I'm Kelly.

As a writer, I've always been interested in family stories. When I heard of a Satanic cult in my family tree, I thought I'd found the story of a lifetime. Read more.

We went to the zoo.

We went to the zoo.

We took the boys to the zoo for my company picnic today.

I brought the camera and shot video clips of everything, thinking I'd edit the footage tonight after the boys went to bed. But now it's nearly 8 p.m. and I'm so tired I can barely move. The day, in retrospect, seems unworthy of documentation. It wasn't, of course, but I'm ashamed of how many times I lost my patience with the boys, of how little pleasure I took in seeing the animals, of how broken-down and threadbare I felt for the better half of the day.

After driving home from the zoo we went to the park for "Pops with Cops." The local police had parked a few cars and fire engines in the grass and were handing out popsicles. The boys took turns sitting in the fire engine, then ran around the playground until dinner time.
