Waving the Flag
Back in September, I posted what I hoped would be my first vlog. It captured my family's trip to a small-town parade and carnival. It ended up being my last vlog, because I vastly underestimated the time and effort it would take to haul a camera everywhere, capture every scene from six different angles, and then cut it together with motion graphics and a royalty-free soundtrack.
Today we attended, the annual Memorial Day parade that takes place right down the block. I shot a few clips on my iPhone before its battery died. Then I strung together the clips in Adobe Premiere and loaded them onto YouTube.
The end result is much less polished than my original attempt. Today's video doesn't have a clear narrative or a soundtrack. But it's still a nice snapshot of our day. And that's good enough for me.
