Toddler Dance Party
I started out the day feeling anxious.
Usually I love going back to work on a Monday but my schedule this week is overfull, with lots of new projects requiring lots of brainpower. I worried I wouldn't be able to get everything done and still have energy at night to write my daily blog posts.
I tried to reappraise, something I'm learning from Your Brain at Work: The limited time gives me the perfect opportunity to fight perfectionism! That's exactly who I started this #365 project in the first place!
It helped. By the end of the day I'd sorted out my workload and wrote some website copy I felt good about. My client meeting ended early. I came home and had a toddler dance party.
This is one of the two parenting hacks that are helping the winter days to seem more manageable. The second hack is the childcare at the gym down the road. Free babysitting, up to two hours at a time, for $40 a month. This is epic. And now that the baby has turned one, I can drop both the kids off after dinner and give both my husband and myself a break.
Double the exercise, double the endorphins.
