Is it the weather or the climate?
I worry, sometimes, that this blog is nothing more than a scratchpad for my moods.
Then, today, a coworker sent me the link to an article on Quartz that explains how writing down labels for emotions can help reduce stress and anxiety.
So there you go. Validation.
I guess it won't hurt to tell you, then, that I've felt off-kilter all day. Blame the torrential rain that snarled morning traffic. Blame the few small stressors that left me buzzing with anxiety for the better half of the day. Blame hormones. Blame karma.
Affect labels: Anxiety. Brain fog. Forgetting to breathe.
It's the weather, another coworker says.
Is it the weather, or the climate? asks Francine Shapiro, in her book on EMDR.
Maybe it's both. Maybe everybody's right.
