The Progression of Fall
I had a lot of things to map out at the office so I holed up in a conference room all day. The nice one with the floor to ceiling white boards. I poured myself a cup of coffee, turned on Pandora closed the door and got to work. It felt oddly satisfying.
After dinner I went to the library and picked up a stack of picture books. On my drive home, I saw a tricycle someone had set by the side of the road with a sign that read FREE. I pulled over and crammed the little bike into my trunk. The boys haven't seen it yet but I think they'll be excited.
The red overtakes the trees a little each day. I think of taking photos, of making a flip-book or a stop motion video that encapsulates the progression of fall. Blink once and you might miss it. Cicadas, then crickets, then snow.
