I finally finished the blog post for Ancestry that's been nagging at me for over a month. It came together in under an hour. Afterwards I felt buoyant with relief. Ready to tackle anything. I forget sometimes how energy can get trapped and stagnate and how good it feels to unblock.
Later I went out to lunch with a coworker who wanted to pick my brain about blogging. I told her about Squarespace and she told me about her recent venture into vlogging. We practically swooned over all the creative possibilities: to write, design, photograph and film! So many people are already sharing their stories and finding their way; why not us?
The New York Times finally wrote back. The editor said my essay was still on the list for publication. Not in February, but sometime.
And so I wait, and write, and turn the possibilities over in my palm like pieces of sea glass, watching them shimmer.
