Spring Forward, Fall Back
I was feeling sick today so I worked from home. Spent most of the day in bed with my laptop, writing website copy and listening to the birds chirp outside my window. The weather couldn't have been nicer: 68 degrees and sunny, with puffy cumulus clouds dotting the cerulean sky.
In the afternoon I drove to the office supply store for a binder to hold my book research, and I found a magnetic wall storage system on clearance. I've been looking for someplace to store my art supplies, so I picked up a few pieces and later attached them to the side of my bookcase.
I got to test out the block printing ink I wrote about earlier, too. It captures more detail than the acrylic paints I'd been using, but it'll take some getting used to. The ink is thicker and tackier than acrylics. And printing with ink over a layer of acrylic paint just created a mottled, bubbly mess.
I'll share the best prints with you as soon as I get a chance to scan them. This evening I was too distracted by hanging magnetic containers and filing papers into binders.
I need to learn how to rest for more than four hours in a row.
