Steven Soderbergh on Storytelling
I've been following the blog Kottke.org for years. Jason Kottke often shares videos of film analyses, and sometimes those videos contain valuable writing tips.
I found the video below especially helpful. Steven Soderbergh's unconventional methods reveal how storytellers can capture crucial detail about setting, character and theme without directly stating them. It's the old writing advice to "show, don't tell" brought to life on screen.
