I left the house today for the first time in almost two weeks. My husband, the baby and I went to the coffee shop down the road. It has a play area with a couch that I could rest my leg on. The perfect venue for my first post-accident outing. I ordered a cafe mocha and watched the baby stack alphabet blocks while I drew a portrait of my husband in black crayon on the back of a coloring page.
I haven’t made a single Etsy sale since my friend bought a mono print back when I first opened the shop. I’m thinking about giving the art away, in honor of the upcoming holiday. I’d love to put the money toward new art supplies, but the time required to photograph and list each piece makes it impractical for this stage of my life. Plus, it would feel good to get these prints and collages off my shelf and out into the world.
