Easter Sunday 2017
Today we went to Grandma's house for Easter lunch.
The baby fell asleep on the drive there. I sent the toddler inside and stayed in the car while the baby snored in the backseat. Birds sang all around us and the breeze blew white petals from a nearby tree into the open car windows. I reclined the driver's seat and read Fifty Days of Solitude.
After lunch we had an egg hunt. I crouched in the grass in my polka dot dress, trying not to flash the neighbors as I snapped photos of the boys.
On the way home, we stopped by Toys"R"Us and bought a bin of loose Lego bricks, just because. The toddler spent the entire evening camped at the dining room table, building one thing after another.
"Look, Mom" he'd say, "I made an Super Alligator Two Three Thousand Tractor! I made a Ball Tower Awesomator! Mom, this is the best Easter ever."
He was right like always.
