Hi! I'm Kelly.

As a writer, I've always been interested in family stories. When I heard of a Satanic cult in my family tree, I thought I'd found the story of a lifetime. Read more.

Down Came the Rain

Down Came the Rain

A cold, gray, rainy day from morning to night.

A peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for dinner kind of day. A hopping in puddles in the library parking lot kind of day.

The perfect day for cuddling up with a good book. The boys thought so, too. The baby dragged the pillows out from the bedroom and we curled up on the living room floor and read aloud all evening.

A "Mom, let's cuddle" kind of evening. A "Mom, let's play barbecue" kind of evening. A "Mom, can you talk the guys? Mom, talk the guys!" kind of evening.

An avoiding the news kind of evening, because the stories from Houston makes my heart hurt. A counting my blessings kind of evening, because I can come home to a home that's warm and safe and dry.
