Donuts and Drawing
For the past few Saturdays, I've taken my oldest son to the donut shop while the baby takes his morning nap. Today he wanted to sit outside. I sat and drew him while he ate his donut.
I can never do this handsome little face justice, though it's fun to try.
Afterward he wanted to draw, too, so I turned over my sketchbook. I encouraged him to draw me, but he had other plans. So on the left side there's a portrait, and on the right-hand side there's a landscape with lots and lots of grass.
Here's a spread from earlier in the week. The gray marker bleeds through to the page above.
The kids are mostly tolerant of my drawing habit as long as I'm drawing them. Which works out great, because they're my favorite subjects. Even though they never hold still for more than a fraction of a second at a time.
