Cut, Paste, Stitch, Repeat
I fell down a rabbit hole today, looking at Mark Hearld's artwork. I bought his work book on Amazon. Then, because too much is never enough, I bought his other book, The Lumber Room: Unimagined Treasures. The latter is shipping from Edinburgh; neither book is expected to arrive before September. But at least I'll have a month of sweet anticipation.
While seeking out Hearld's work, I found this video:
Isn't it wonderful? I love the music and the illustrations. The animated bits remind me of my dad's old Led Zeppelin III record. It had a wheel inside you could turn to make the pictures in the windows change. I spent hours playing with that thing when I was a kid.
I finally got a chance to photograph my accordion book in progress. I'm tickled pink over the way it's coming together.
You should've seen the gym bag I made in seventh grade home ec class. It was hot pink with black straps, and the stitches went everywhere.
I like sewing on paper much better.
